Most people need one connector: Upsolve. It works for everyone in your organization and gives each person what their role allows — everyone can ask questions and keep what they find, and builders can also build and publish workspaces. Upsolve Analytics is the asking-and-keeping half on its own, for anyone who prefers a shorter list of tools. Both sign in with your Upsolve account (OAuth). Nothing else to configure: the assistant finds your organizations, projects and workspaces itself.
Running Upsolve on your own machine? See Use Upsolve Local from Claude and Codex: the same two servers, with no sign-in.

Connect

  1. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Paste https://mcp.upsolve.ai/mcp (or https://mcp.upsolve.ai/user for Upsolve Analytics).
  3. Sign in with your Upsolve account.

Ask

With either connector:
As a builder, with Upsolve:
Follow-up questions keep their context: the agent remembers the conversation. In Claude.ai and Claude Desktop charts render in the conversation, drawn in your workspace’s theme. Claude Code shows the same data as text. Canvases open in Upsolve: when the assistant builds or changes one, it gives you the link. Ask for data in plain words, even as a builder (“use Upsolve to get last month’s signups by plan”). For a quick number, or the rows behind something the assistant builds for you, it runs a fast query written from your workspace’s context and returns in seconds; for analysis, charts and canvases it asks the workspace’s agent; and it reads the charts on a canvas you name (“turn my Q3 review canvas into a dashboard”) — their saved numbers, or current ones if you ask. It changes or tests a workspace only when that is what you asked for.

Ask the way your users do

To see exactly what your end users get, add Upsolve Analytics with your own builder account. Every call then runs as your own project user, against the published version, with your own conversations, favorites and canvases. You can’t change a workspace from it. To answer as one of your customers instead, use the builder connector’s Playground (“ask the draft as the project user for Acme”). It runs any version as any project user and saves nothing to that user’s history.

What you save is yours

Conversations, favorites and canvases made through either connector are saved to your own account and appear in the Upsolve Hub under the workspace, next to the ones you made there. Nobody else sees them. See Favorites and Canvas. Ask for a canvas in the same conversation as its charts. The workspace’s agent builds it: it lays the charts out two to a row and saves each one with its data, so the canvas shows them as soon as you open it. Charts you save to your favorites keep their data the same way.

Roles

Data access is the same as in the Upsolve Hub: row-level security applies to every answer.

Troubleshooting

End users can ask questions, save favorites and build canvases with either connector. Building, testing and publishing a workspace is for owners, admins and members.
Upsolve Analytics only answers from a published version. Publish the workspace, and promote the version if publishing did not.
You can only ask a workspace that is published in a project you can open. Ask a builder in your organization to publish one, or to give you access to its project.
Remove the connector, add it again with the same URL, and sign in again.
